John Tice takes the Gold:

BTA CEO John P. Tice, FAIA received AIA Florida's Gold Medal Award. This award is to recognize an individual architect in Florida who has distinguished himself/herself in a manner resulting in a profound impact on the profession over an extended period of time. This is the highest award AIA Florida can bestow on one of its members and only one may be given in a year. The individual's long-term, noteworthy accomplishments, in addition to their leadership in AIA, community organizations or governmental bodies must demonstrate distinguishable results characterizing one's career in a manner over and above that which is normally expected.
